Lurlyne L. Smith, age 95, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022, at Lakeside Senior Living, in Douglas, GA, following an extended illness. Mrs. Smith was born on August 1, 1926, in Broxton, GA to the late John James (Dr. JJ) Lott and Myrtle Tanner Lott.

 

Survivors include: Sons;  Parker “Sparky” (Janet) Smith of Douglas, GA,  James Olvin (Linda) Smith, Jr. of Milledgeville, GA, Daughter;  Paula (Karen Lucas) Smith of Atlanta, GA, Grandchildren;  Tyler Smith (Karim) Khoury of Washington, DC,  James Olvin Smith III (Kat) of Salt Lake City, UT,  Taylor Rebecca Smith (Matt) Lee of Park City, UT,  Three Great Grandchildren;  Julien Khoury, Leila Khoury, Henry Lee, Sister-in-Law;  Betty Day Smith, and Brother-in-Law;  Samuel V. Smith (Corrine); and several nieces and nephews.

 

A memorial service will be held at a later date in March of 2022, details will be announced by family for those that would like to attend.

 

Memorialization will be by cremation.

 

Due to Covid-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all customers, guests, and attendees to wear medical grade masks at all times while in our facility, as well as social distancing. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, however the safety of our staff and those we serve are our primary concern. Masks will not be provided.
