Evelyn Eloise Jones, age 91, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022 at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Jones was born on January 7, 1931, in Adel, Georgia, to the late Kenneth Campbell Fender and Eloise Lewis Fender.  

 

Survivors include: Two Daughters; Carole Vaughn (Andy) of Douglas, GA and Cathy Wright (Danny) also of Douglas, GA; Two Sons; Ricky Jones of Douglas, GA and Mark Jones of Douglas, GA.  Six Grandchildren; Carmen Wright, Danielle W. Moseley (Travis), Will Wright, Melissa Moree (William), Andrea Vaughn, and Tyler Vaughn (Lindsey).  Five Great-Grandchildren; Eliza Kate Vaughn, Hunter Aaron Stewart, Maylie Rae Vickers, Daniel Jacob Vickers, and Cannon Moseley.  Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her Husband, Roy Jones, her parents, Kenneth Campbell Fender and Eloise Lewis Fender, Three siblings; Bill Fender, Faye Lee, and Carroll Fender.

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022, at First United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM with Rev. James Sapp and Jimmy Roberts officiating.  The internment will follow after at the Douglas City Cemetery.  Active pallbearers will be: Tyler Vaughn, William Moree, Hunter Stewart, Will Wright, David Davis, and Mike Greene. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Members of the Whitfield Sunday School Class and the Thursday Morning Bible Study Group, both of Douglas First United Methodist Church, and her faithful Sitter, Tony Wynn.

 

The family will receive friends Friday, February 18, 2022, from 1:00PM until 2:00PM.

 

In lieu of flowers memorials can be sent to First United Methodist Church at First United Methodist Church, 311 N. Madison Ave, Douglas, GA 31533 and Magnolia Community Services, 101 Bowens Mill Road, Douglas, GA  31533.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, however the safety of our staff and those we serve are our primary concern. Masks will not be provided.
