Mr. Jesse George Gillis, age 71 of Nicholls, GA, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

 

Mr. Gillis was born July 17, 1950, to the late Gaston Gillis and the late Frances Mills Gillis. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Batten GillisMr. Gillis, a native of Douglas, GA, was self-employed with his own sawmill. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War.

 

Survivors include:1 Son: Jesse Gaston Gillis of Nicholls, GA

 

2 Sisters: Carrie Jean Thomas of Nicholls, GA,Burell Harper of Nicholls, GA

 

1 Brother: Lonnie Gillis of Nicholls, GA

 

2  Grandchildren

 

Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Many Friends

 

The funeral service will be Wednesday afternoon, February 16, 2022, at 1:30 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. James Steed and Rev. Roger Carter officiating. The interment will follow in Forest Grove Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends, Wednesday, February 16, 2022, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home.

 

Due to COVID, the funeral home has asked all attendees to please follow the rules and guidelines for social distancing and to wear your mask for safety precautions at the visitation, service and interment. Masks will not be furnished.

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
