Manley Russell Gillis, 65

Manley Russell Gillis, age 65, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Gillis was born on June 25, 2022, in Coffee County, Georgia, to the late Manley Gillis and Shirley Kirkland Gillis.

 

Survivors include: His Wife; Veronda Gillis, Daughter;  Katie Gillis, Sister;  Sandy Gillis Mitchell (Mark) of Lawrenceville, GA, and  Brother; Jay Gillis (Angie) of Lawrenceville, GA. Mr. Gillis is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Gillis was preceded in death by his parents; Manley Gillis and Shirley Kirkland Gillis.   

 

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 25, 2022, from 10:00AM until 11:00AM, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

 

The funeral services will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022, at 11:00AM, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with Bishop Tony Wright, Elder Lee Dorset, Hon. Dwayne Gillis, Chuck Sims, and Tony Kirkland officiating. Active Pallbearers will be: Ray Fussell, Dr. Timothy Fussell, Victor Kirkland, Jerome Adams, Billy Smith, Russell Mills, and Joey Chancey. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Members of the Douglas/Coffee County Bar Association, Coffee County Probate Court staff, Coffee County Clerk of Court staff, and the Coffee County Magistrate Court staff.

 

The interment will take place at a later date.

 

Memorialization will be by cremation.

 

Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all customers, guests, and attendees to wear medical grade masks at all times while in our facility, as well as social distancing. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, however the safety of our staff and those we serve are our primary concern. Masks will not be provided. 

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
