Melissa Ann Corbitt Newell, age 45, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022 at her residence following a brief illness. Mrs. Newell was born on April 23, 1976, in Coffee County, Georgia, to Gladys Corbitt and the late James “Boogie” Corbitt.
Survivors include: Two Daughters; Tiffany Rowell of Douglas, GA, Emily Fender of Douglas, GA One Son; Tyler Rowell of Pennsylvania, Three Brothers; Lee Steverson (Brandi) of Douglas, GA, James Ronald Corbitt of Douglas, GA, James Wesley Corbitt of Douglas, GA, Mother; Gladys Corbitt of Douglas, GA, and a Granddaughter; Ellie Rowell. She was also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Her Wife; Tracey Rowell Corbitt, Father; James “Boogie” Corbitt, and a Brother; Terry Wayne Deaton.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 28, 2022, at Sims Funeral Home, from 6:00PM until 9:00PM.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 2:00PM, at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Bounds officiating. Active Pallbearers will be: Christian Corbitt, Dustin Merritt, Josh Ivey, Lee Steverson, Grant Moore, Carey Moore, and Corey Moore.
