Mr. Otis Lee “John” Davis, age 68 of Douglas, GA, passed away early Monday morning, February 28, 2022, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Davis was born January 14, 1954, to the late Freddie Davis, Sr. and the late Betty Jean Malphus Davis. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Anthony Davis.

 

Mr. Davis, a native of Douglas, GA, was a self-employed contractor in home construction. He was a member of Bushnell Chapel Church.

 

Survivors include:

 

His wife of 41 Years: Christine D. Davis of Douglas, GA

 

3 Sons: Farest Davis and wife Michelle of Chesapeake, VA
John Carl Davis and wife Denise of Capron, VA
Jeffery Davis of Douglas, GA

 

2 Stepsons: Raymond Batten and wife Kristy of Cumming, GA
Richard Batten and wife Marcia of Commerce, GA

 

1 Sister: Brenda Davis and husband Fred Spires of Fitzgerald, GA

 

2 Brothers: Michael Gene Davis and wife Hazel of Sparks, GA
Freddie Davis, Jr. of Douglas, GA

 

15 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren

 

A number of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends

 

The funeral service will be Thursday afternoon, March 3, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. Cliff Kirkland and Rev. Gerald Gardner officiating. The interment will follow in Douglas City Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home.

 

Due to COVID, the funeral home personnel have asked all attendees to please follow the rules and guidelines for social distancing and to wear you mask for safety precautions at the visitation, funeral service and interment.

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
