William Harrison “Billy” Foskey, Jr., 78

Mr. William Harrison “Billy” Foskey, Jr., age 78 of Douglas, passed away early Friday morning, March 4, 2022 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a short illness. Mr. Foskey was born January 2, 1944 to the late William H. “Bill” Foskey, Sr. and the late Juanita Ricketson Foskey. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 Brothers: Jerry Foskey and Robert Foskey.

 

Mr. Foskey, a native of Coffee County, was a Power Plant Supervisor for the Shutdown Department. He attended First Congregational Christian Church and he was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War.

 

Survivors include:His wife: Judy Trulove Foskey of Douglas, GA

 

2 Sons: Jonathan Foskey of Tallahassee, FL
Solomon Foskey and wife Alyssa of Valdosta, GA

 

1 Daughter: Mendy Rentz and husband Daniel of Douglas, GA

 

7 Grandchildren: Brittney, Brayden, Zoey, Silas, Malachi, Lincoln and Aubrey

 

2 Sisters: Connie Grantham of Douglas, GA
Wanda Howard of Douglas, GA

 

1 Half-Sister: Carol Watkins of GA

 

Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Many Friends

 

The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 6, 2022, at 2:00 PM at First Congregational Christian Church with Rev. Matt Rutland officiating. Mr. Foskey will lie in state at the church from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.  A private interment will follow later.

 

The family will receive friends Saturday evening, March 5, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Word and Song Ministries 179 Bethel Church Road Douglas, GA 31535 or to Gideons International PO Box 2138 Douglas, GA 31534.

 

Due to COVID, the funeral home has asked all attendees to please follow the rules and guidelines for social distancing and to wear your mask for safety precautions at the visitation and funeral service.
