Mr. Vernon Medford Hurst, age 87 of Douglas, passed away late Wednesday evening, March 30, 2022 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Hurst was born October 23, 1934 to the late Lawrence Hurst and the late Ada Loyd Hurst. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Pippin Hurst and 10 Siblings.
Mr. Hurst, a native of Ochlocknee, GA, was a retired USDA Food Inspector with the federal government. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

A number of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
A private memorial service and inurnment will take place on Sunday, April 3, 2022.
Memorialization is by cremation.
