The Coffee County Drug Unit (CCDU) announces the following recent drug-related arrests:
March 21 – The CCDU located and arrested Cameron Blake Spires, who was wanted on an active warrant for failing to appear in court on a previous charge of possession of methamphetamine.
March 28 – Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Norman Bass, who was wanted on an active arrest warrant from another county. Bass refused to stop and led deputies on a brief chase. Bass eventually crashed his vehicle after striking a deputy’s patrol vehicle. He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, fleeing and eluding, driving while license suspended, and numerous other traffic-related offenses.
March 29 – The CCDU located and arrested Martin Bustos, who was wanted on an active probation warrant for the original charge of possession of methamphetamine.
April 6 – A K-9 deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Rocky Oliver and occupied by Noel Barnes. Both individuals had active warrants for probation violations. Oliver was originally charged with possession of methamphetamine, and Barnes was originally charged with burglary. Both were arrested at the scene.
April 12 – The CCDU executed an arrest warrant and conducted a search at a residence where a probationer resided. As a result, the target of the operation, Joshua Freeman, was arrested on his outstanding warrant. Shawn Britton was also arrested after he was located hiding under the residence. Britton was found to be in possession of suspected drugs and drug-related objects. He was subsequently charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug-related objects, and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
April 13 – The CCDU located and arrested a suspected MDMA trafficker parked at a local Douglas motel. Fredo Jean Popo (a/k/a Timothy Gore, a/k/a Raundall White) was found to be in possession of a large quantity of suspected MDMA. Popo was charged with giving a false name to a law enforcement officer, trafficking in a controlled substance (MDMA), and fugitive from justice. Popo was wanted out of the State of Florida for failing to appear in court for possession of cathinone. a synthetic substance similar to amphetamines and MDPV. A passenger in the vehicle, Kenneth Powell, was also arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
April 13 – Search warrants were served at various locations pertaining to an ongoing sale of methamphetamine case involving Justin Lloyd Holt. A large quantity of suspected methamphetamine was located, along with firearms. Prior to the searches, Holt was located with Bobby Kyle McKinnon. Holt was arrested on outstanding warrants for sale of methamphetamine. McKinnon was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. Holt was additionally charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Also at one of the locations, an individual identified as Jerry Hamilton was located and found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine. Hamilton was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine.
April 15 – Coffee County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle fled from deputies, and a chase ensued. The driver fled on foot after the vehicle came to a stop. A passenger in the vehicle, Kevin Jackson, was found to be in possession of suspected crack cocaine. Suspected MDMA tablets were located in the vehicle, as well. The CCDU was notified, and Jackson was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. The driver, Travis Bennett, was not located that night. Warrants were applied for and granted on Bennett for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
