Wiregrass Georgia Technical College is offering Auto Electrical/Electronic Systems Technician technical certificate of credit on the Ben Hill-Irwin Campus.  This certificate can be completed in only 10 weeks during this summer semester.  The Automotive classes will be offered Monday through Thursday from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm.  New students are being accepted for Summer Semester, and classes begin on May 16.

This certificate will provide students with the knowledge and skills to perform basic automotive electrical procedures such as diagnosing electrical problems, test circuits, and using various diagnostic tools to find and repair wiring concerns.  Graduates from this certificate program can get hired at most car repair shops in entry-level positions. Wiregrass Automotive Instructor Todd Thompson has been working in the automotive industry for over 30 years and is Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified, General Motors (GM) certified, and Ford Certified in electrical and electronics. Thompson shared, “One of the first steps in the process of working on cars is electrical. There is not one day that I do not get calls from employers seeking technicians.”

The  Automotive Electrical/Electronic Systems Technician Certificate Program is being offered during Summer Semester.  Full-term Summer Semester classes begin on May 16, and Summer Express starts on May 31.  The Ben Hill-Irwin Campus is open Monday – Thursday, 7:30 am – 5:30 pm.  Apply in person in the One-Stop Center or online at wiregrass.edu.
