Mrs. Leisha Carol Miller Young, age 59 of Douglas, passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 4, 2022 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born December 16, 1962 to Barney Miller and Carolyn Futch Miller.

 

 

Mrs. Young, a native of Coffee County, was a Pre-K Teacher at Eastside Baptist Preschool. Also she was a homemaker. Leisha was a member of Douglas Christian Fellowship Church.

 

 

Survivors include:

 

 

Her Husband of 31 Years: James Melvin Young of Douglas, GA

 

 

2 Sons: Chadwick James Young and wife Sarah of Nicholls, GA
Carter Jackson Young of Douglas, GA

 

 

1 Grandchild: Thora Claire Young of Nicholls, GA

 

 

Her Parents: Barney and Carolyn Miller of Douglas, GA

 

 

1 Sister: Sue Lynn Purvis of Blackshear, GA

 

 

2 Brothers: Joe Miller and David Miller both of Douglas, GA

 

 

Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Many Friends

 

 

A memorial service will be held Saturday afternoon, May 7, 2022 at 5:00 PM at The Sanctuary on Waldroup Avenue. following the service, a dinner will be held in the church social hall of The Sanctuary.

 

 

Memorialization is by cremation.

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
