Anna Lane Hattaway, age 21, died suddenly on May 20, 2022. She was born April 25, 2001, in Waycross, Ga., but lived most of her life in Cartersville, Ga. She is and was deeply loved by her parents, Don and Sonia (Strickland) Hattaway, and brothers, Nathan and Daniel Hattaway. She is and was adored by her maternal grandparents, Rod and Dianna Strickland, and paternal grandparents, the late E.M. and June Hattaway.

Extended family who loved her dearly include her Aunt Shanda Strickland Holloman (husband Doug), and cousin Suzi Holloman (Duluth); Uncle Jack and Aunt June Ellen Beverly, cousin Jay Beverly, 2nd cousins, Addison and Gavin Beverly (Douglas); Uncle Bennie and Aunt Nancy Whittle (Douglas), cousins Chad and Becky Whittle, 2nd cousin Whitney Whittle (Milledgeville); Aunt Karen Wilkes (Woodstock), cousins Andrew and Kristy Wilkes, 2nd cousins Harper, Barrett, and Hudson (Jacksonville); cousins Kaleb and Jordan Wilkes (Marietta); cousins Jameson and Kaley June Tanner, 2nd cousins Olsen, Amos, and Isaac (Canton); and many other extended aunts, uncles, and cousins. A precious baby 2nd cousin, Addie Wilkes (daughter of Andrew and Kristy), preceded Anna Lane in death.

Anna Lane’s beloved dog is named Zane. She rescued him from the Coffee County Animal Shelter in 2019. He was a faithful and loving companion to her. He will now live at the Hattaway family farm.

Anna Lane was wonderfully loved by her church family, Tabernacle Baptist Church, and countless friends of Cartersville, Ga., in addition to many friends across our country and world. After graduating high school three years ago, she attended and completed instruction in Music Business and Audio Engineering at Dark Horse Institute in Franklin, Tn. She loved music. She loved to sing and play the guitar; she wrote many songs and was presently working on releasing some of her recordings. Her marketing brand was “Paper Airplane” and she had future plans to use this in pursuit of her musical aspirations.

Anna Lane’s deepest love was for the country of St. Vincent and the Grenadines where she spent many summers ministering to the people of Union Island. Her heart’s desire was to live there and be with the people she had come to love; her dream was to open a ministry center for children which she had already named “Kings and Queens.”

Anna Lane’s faith was in Jesus Christ, and we who trust in Him know she is in Heaven with her Savior and we will see her again.

The funeral for Anna Lane Hattaway will be at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Cartersville, Ga., at 4 p.m. this Thursday, May 26, 2022, with visitation occurring the two hours before. There will be a second service at First Baptist Church, Douglas, Ga., at 2 p.m. this Saturday, May 28, 2022, with visitation occurring two hours before. Following the First Baptist Church service, the graveside interment will be at the Hattaway family farm.

To further the ministry Anna Lane so enjoyed giving to the people of the Caribbean, and in lieu of flowers, donations to the First Baptist Church Mission Fund for St. Vincent and the Grenadines will be received. Donations may be sent to FBC Douglas, 124 N. Gaskin Ave., Douglas, Ga., 31533.
