Meth charges lead the list of May’s drug unit arrests

The Coffee County Drug Unit (CCDU) announces the following recent drug-related arrests for the month of May. 

 

 

May 2 – The CCDU located a wanted person, Octavio Ruiz, in the Oak Park Community. Ruiz was wanted on a bench warrant for failing to appear for a prior possession of methamphetamine case.

 

 

May 3 – A residential search was conducted at a home on Red Clay Rd. As a result of the search, suspected drugs were located. Shawn Britton, Kiala Murray, and Stefanie Adams were all charged with possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of a controlled substance.

 

 

May 3 – The CCDU conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Willie Zachery. who was found to be wanted on active arrest warrants for traffic related offenses through the Douglas Police Department. Zachery was also found to be in possession of suspected cocaine. Zachery was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

 

 

May 3 – The CCDU located Aaron Geiger, who was wanted on an active warrant for his arrest.  Geiger was recently indicted by a Coffee County grand jury on a methamphetamine trafficking case. Geiger was also found to be in possession of more suspected methamphetamine at the time of his arrest and faces additional methamphetamine possession charges. 

 

 

May 4– Veronica Maldonado was arrested for trafficking methamphetamine after a brief investigation in which over four pounds of suspected methamphetamine were seized.

 

 

May 9 – The CCDU located a wanted couple, Ray Batten and Shanlee Batten. The Battens had active warrants for their arrests for a previous case in which they were charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm during a crime.

 

 

May 10 – A search warrant was executed at a residence near Sand Hill Church Rd. As a result, large quantities of suspected marijuana and THC wax were located. The residents, Jesse James McCabe, and Kellie Davenport were not home at the time and began fleeing Coffee County after they learned the CCDU was at their residence. Information was passed along to other local law enforcement agencies, and the couple was located in Berrien County. Both were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. Davenport was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and McCabe was charged with trafficking marijuana.

 

 

May 16 – The CCDU located a wanted individual, Julio Pascual, in the Oak Park Community. Pascual had a bench warrant for failing to appear in court on a prior prescription medication distribution case.

 

 

May 17 – The CCDU had knowledge that the driver of a vehicle found at a local store was out on bond for a possession of methamphetamine case, and criminal indicators led deputies to believe there was methamphetamine in the vehicle. A search was conducted, and suspected methamphetamine was located. As a result, Thomas Alexander was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

 

 

May 17 – A traffic stop was attempted on a vehicle driven by Joseph Cumbass. Cumbass fled and led deputies on a brief pursuit through Ambrose before eventually stopping. He was arrested and charged with driving without a license, obstruction of a law enforcement officer, and distracted driving.

 

 

May 19 – The CCDU served a search warrant at a residence in Nicholls in reference to a prescription medication distribution case. Kenny Jones, a parolee, was located within the home. Various kinds of prescription medications were located, along with suspected marijuana. Jones was arrested and charged with twelve counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

 

 

May 20 – A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle driven by Timothy Wooten. A search of the vehicle was conducted, and suspected heroin, suspected prescription medication, and firearms were found. Wooten was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm during a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of drug related objects, and a safety restraint violation.

 

 

May 25 – A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle driven by Justin Gross. A search of the vehicle was conducted, and suspected methamphetamine was discovered. Gross was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug related objects.

 

 

May 26 – The CCDU located two wanted subjects, Tremaine Clemons and Kayla Smith. Both had arrest warrants for their involvement in a previous case. Clemons was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during a crime. Smith was charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a firearm during a crime.

 

 

May 27 – The CCDU conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Asahel Sendejas. Sendejas was found to be operating the motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Suspected marijuana and a firearm were found in the vehicle, and Sendejas was charged with driving while license suspended and possession of marijuana.
