Mr. Jesse Elton Baker, age 95 of Douglas passed away Monday, June 13, 2022 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

 

 

Mr. Baker was born November 12, 1926 to the late Lonnie Baker and the late Amanda Davis Baker. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Christine Russ Baker, a daughter Debra Baker Culpepper, a brother: Shelton Baker and a sister: Shellie Mae Walters. 

 

 

Mr. Baker , a native of High Point, NC, had lived in Douglas for many years. He was a carpenter by trade. He was also the last charter member of West Ward Church of God. He was faithful to his church and his Lord and Savior. 

 

 

Survivors include: 

 

 

Daughters: Jo Ann Veal of Douglas, GA 

Carol Pfeiffer of Apollo Beach, FL 

Lanee Baker of Douglas, GA 

 

 

Granchildren: Joey Culpepper of FL 

Kathy Bell of Iowa 

Lynn Batten of Douglas, GA 

Lora Pfeiffer of Apollo Beach, FL 

 

 

3 Great Grandchildren 

 

 

Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Many Friends. 

 

 

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon, June 15, 2022 from 2:00 PM until the funeral hour of 3:00 PM. at West Ward Church of God. 

 

 

The funeral service will be Wednesday afternoon June 15, 2022 at 3:00 PM at West Ward Church of God with Bishop Britt Peavy officiating. The interment will follow at Sand Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. 

 

 

Active Pallbearers for the service will be: Michael Veal, Joe Culpepper, Joey Culpepper, Cameron Culpepper, Brantley Anderson, Jr. and Eddie Rish. 

 

 

The pianist will be Terry Weeks and the soloist will be Coleman Peacock. Musical selections will be “Knowing what I Know About Heaven” and “Haven of Rest”. 

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
