Mrs. Othalyne Harrell Bowen, age 84 of Douglas, passed away late Saturday night, June 18, 2022 at Paleman Gaskins Nursing Home in Ocilla, GA. Mrs. Bowen was born October 15, 1937 to the late Leroy Harrell and the late Lois Crider Harrell. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Osborn Bowen, 6 Siblings: Lillie Mae Carver, John Carroll Harrell, Nadine Chaney, Vernon Harrell, LaVera Smith and Glynlon Harrell. 

 

 

Survivors include: 

 

 

Children: James Roy Bowen and wife Susan of Douglas, GA 

Cauley Bowen and wife Denise of Fitzgerald, GA 

Brenda Bowen Gay and husband Byron of Douglas, GA 

 

 

Grandchildren: Kristin Smith and husband Charlie of Douglas, GA 

Ashley Chaney and husband Richard of Axson, GA 

Kellie Minnifield and husband Marcus of Douglas, GA 

Tori Lasher and husband James of Delaware, OH 

 

 

4 Step-Grandchildren: Kristy Joiner and husband Jason of Pearson, GA 

Justin Gay and wife April of Broxton, GA 

Brandon Gay and wife Tiffany of Campbellsville, KY 

Liegha Metcalf and husband Jeremy of Douglas, GA 

 

 

5 Great Grandchildren: Isabella Stevens, Carley Stevens, Cameron Minnifield, Parker Minnifield and Charlotte Grace Lasher 

 

 

10 Step-Great Grandchildren 

 

 

A number of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends 

 

 

The funeral service will be held Tuesday morning, June 21, 2022 at 11:00 AM at First Assembly of God with Rev. Marshall Adcock and Rev. Rob Merritt officiating. The interment will follow at Satilla Memorial Gardens. 

 

 

The family will receive friends, Monday evening, June 20, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at First Assembly of God. 

 

 

Active Pallbearers for the service will be: Jim Harrell, Carl Murray, Robert Futch, Glenn Gardner, Jr, Terry Morgan and Jason Merritt. 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
