Melvin Gary Outlaw, 78, of Nashville, died Sunday June 19, 2022 at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL.

 

 

He was born March 10, 1944 in Berrien County to the late Melvin Leon Outlaw and the late Odell Walker Outlaw Brogdon. He was an electrical millwright, farmer, member and deacon of Riverside Missionary Baptist Church. In his own words, he was a “Jack of all trades” and a “Master on none”. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Samantha Dube; 2 brothers: R.E. Outlaw and Finous Outlaw.

 

 

He is survived by his wife: Montine Virginia “Jenny” Guthrie Outlaw of Nashville; 2 daughters: Monica (Jeff) Kendrick of Valdosta and Ginger (Anthony) Davis of Nashville; son: Glenn Outlaw of Nashville; 5 grandchildren: Eric (Carrie) Vickers, Andrew Outlaw, Gavin (Kristin) Davis, Casey (Hanna) Dube and Gabe (Marly) Davis; 7 great grandchildren: Melania, Cayson, Nathan, Alison, Tucker, Chloe and Eleanor; brother: Eston “E.W.” Outlaw of Lakeland; half sister: Martha Jean Kucera of Silverhill, AL; best friend: Willie.

 

 

Funeral services will be held Friday June 24, 2022 at 2 pm in the Riverside Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Kevin Stone officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside cemetery. Visitation will be in the church one hour prior to the service.

 

 

Lovein Funeral Home of Nashville is in charge of the arrangements.
