Melissa Phillips, age 52, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Memorial Health in Savannah, Georgia following an extended illness. Mrs. Phillips was born on May, 10, 1970, in Coffee County, Georgia, to the late Estus Coleman Jr. and Betty Jean Burch Coleman.

 

Survivors include: Four Daughters: Kara  Gibson of Douglas, GA, Natasha  (Johnny) Carter of Douglas, GA, April  Owens of Douglas, GA, Joanna  Phillips of Douglas, GA.  One Son: Mark Brigmond, Jr. of Douglas, GA. Eight Grandchildren: Cadin Robles, Aubrianna Robles, A’mea Sixtos, A’mia Sixtos, Daylin Owens, Daci Owens, Gavin Brigmond and Elizabeth Brigmond. One Sister: Wanda (Jimmy) Thomas of West Green, GA. Two Brothers: Jerry Coleman of Douglas, Ga, Michael (Charlotte) Coleman of Douglas, Ga and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Terry Coleman.

 

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM, at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph Cothren and Rev. Joey Copeland officiating. The Interment will follow at Burkett Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Jimmy Thomas, Ashton Gibson, Tony Velardi, Tyler Bennett, Troy Ray Moore Jr. and Corey Carter.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
