Three men who have been serving time in prison for convictions out of Coffee County recently completed their sentences in Georgia Department of Corrections facilities within the last few weeks. All men were released on their maximum completion date after serving time on a variety of charges, including possession of cocaine, aggravated assault, and entering a vehicle with the intent to commit a felony.

The first offender, Cube Contario Evans, served the lesser sentence of the three inmates, with only a 5-month stay in the Montgomery State Prison.

Evans was charged in Coffee County in 2017 for entering an automobile with the intent to commit a theft or felony. He pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to five years probation, and received 9 months of jail credit.

However, since entering his guilty plea, court officials said Evans continued to violate his probation, leading to multiple revocations and eventually a second arrest.

On December 7, 2020, Evans was ordered to complete the remainder of his probation in a Georgia prison. He was released on June 24.

According to the Georgia Department of Corrections, this is the first time Evans has been incarcerated in one of their facilities.

Andre Petrone Brockington, who has been in and out of prison since 1989, was recently released after spending a short sentence on drug charges. Brockington was charged in July 2021 for possession of cocaine in Coffee County. He pleaded guilty to the charge in November 2021 and received a 3 years sentence, which included serving 350 days in jail. The rest of his sentence will be completed on probation.

According to the Georgia Department of Corrections, Brockington has been incarcerated in the prison system ten times, with his longest sentence being a little under four years from 2006 until 2010. All of his Georgia convictions are in Coffee County and include charges of attempted burglary, forgery in the 1st degree, forgery in the 2nd degree, theft by taking, possession of drugs, burglary, and entering a vehicle with the intent to commit a felony.

Brockington was released from the Wilcox State Prison on June 27.

Most recently, Marty Dewayne Davis, who served a little over three years after pleading guilty to an aggravated assault charge, was released last week.

According to documents filed in the Superior Court of Coffee County, Davis was arrested on May 30, 2018, for the charge and entered a guilty plea the following April.

Davis has been incarcerated in prison three times since 2000 with charges of cruelty to children, burglary in the 2nd degree, and his recent aggravated assault charge. He was released from the Smith State Prison on July 2.

Three other men currently in Georgia prisons have maximum release dates within the next week, including DeMichael Bernard Green (Distribution/Selling of Marijuana), Andrew Jenkins (Terroristic Threats and Acts), and Marcus McFails (Rape). According to the GDC, all three men will be released by July 12.
