Coffee County Extension and 4-H would like to welcome three new staff members to the team this year. First, Tammy Beasley is the Administrative Assistant for the Extension office. While her name is Tammy, her favorite name to be called is Mema by her 7 beautiful grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys reading her Bible, spending time with family and friends, and taking her dog Bella for long walks. She likes working for Extension because being a part of a family is very important to her, and UGA Extension is a big family that works and supports our farmers with research-based information to help them flourish in all areas of agriculture.
Speaking of agriculture, Ashley Smith is the Agriculture and Natural Resources Agent for Coffee County because she loves providing farmers with timely information to help them produce the food, fiber, and forestry products we use every day. Ashley is from Sylvania, GA, and holds a B.S.A in Agribusiness and Animal Science from the UGA. After graduating from college and before becoming the Coffee ANR agent, she moved to Washington, D.C. to work for the Senate Agriculture Committee, USDA, and the International Dairy Foods Association. When she is not working, she loves cheering on the Dawgs, playing golf, and finding any excuse for a cheeseburger combo from Bobby’s.
Finally, Madison Britt is the Coffee County 4-H Agent. Before joining UGA Extension, she was a graduate student at UGA majoring in Middle Grades Education. During grad school, she also worked for UGA’s ALL Georgia Program which supports all rural students at UGA with a network of resources and common experiences to promote their success during and after college. Besides working with youth, Madison enjoys reading, traveling, eating good food, and spending time with her family.
Please feel free to contact them at (912) 384-1402 or stop by the office 709 East Ward Street in Douglas. They look forward to meeting everyone and serving the community.
