James Hall has been named the new Automotive Instructor for Wiregrass Georgia Technical College on the Ben Hill-Irwin Campus.  A native of Ocilla, Hall is a graduate of East Central Tech (now Wiregrass) and brings 18 years of experience in the automotive field to the classroom.   While attending college he was a member of the SkillsUSA chapter. He earned a gold medal at the state SkillsUSA competition and placed 19th at National SkillsUSA in Automotive.

Hall started his career while in college with Griffin Ford in Tifton and later opened his automotive shop in Ocilla in 2012.

“Wiregrass is excited to have James join our team and look forward to continued great things to come from our popular Automotive program on the Ben Hill-Irwin Campus,” shared April McDuffie, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs. The Automotive program will be offered in the evening from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday through Thursday.  Students can enroll in diploma or certificate programs; these programs can take a year and a half or two semesters to complete.  This program is also considered in critical demand in our communities and qualifies for the HOPE Career Grant where those who qualify could pay little if any for college.

“My vision for the program is to create a cutting-edge learning environment that puts the skills needed to be effective in today’s ever-changing automotive marketplace,” shared Hall “Whether students want to learn one specific area or the entire program they will leave with the knowledge needed to complete the task before them.”
