Leighanna McBride, RN, has been named Coffee Regional Medical Center’s DAISY Award winner for the first quarter of 2022. CRMC honored Leighanna during a ceremony on Tuesday, July 26. A registered nurse in the Pediatric Unit, she was nominated by a young patient’s family member for going above and beyond while caring for their ill child. She was described as brightening any room she entered and putting smiles on everyone’s faces.

Honoring nurses internationally, The DAISY Foundation was created in memory of J. Patrick Barnes after his family was positively impacted by the nurses who skillfully and compassionately cared for Patrick during his lengthy hospitalization. The Barnes family wanted a way to honor their Patrick and chose to recognize nurses everywhere for their dedication. The DAISY Foundation was created in 1999 and has been utilized by over 3,400 healthcare facilities in the U.S. and worldwide.

Nurses may be nominated for the DAISY Award by anyone in the organization and those outside the organization – patients, family members, other nurses, physicians, and other clinicians and staff – anyone who experiences or observes extraordinary & compassionate care.

CRMC would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Leighanna and all the nominees for the 1st quarter of 2022. Your hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed. CRMC would like to offer a special thanks to each of its dedicated caregivers. Thank you for all you do each day to care for our patients (and each other) while staying true to Our Purpose; To Serve, To Heal, To Save.
