Dwayne  Vickers , age 64, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Vickers was born on November 9, 1957, in Winter Haven, Florida, to Aubrey Vickers and Myrtle Melissa Myers Vickers.

 

 

Survivors include: One Sister; Joyce Versie Vickers of Douglas, GA, Nine Nieces and Nephews;  Byron Hayes, Jackie (Wayne) Moxley, Wesley (Leslie) Vickers, Randy Brigmond, Sandee Vickers, Russell (Jenny) Brigmond, Michelle Brown, DeAnna M. Spivey (Special Supporting Niece), Jason (Julie) Hayes, along with several great nieces and nephews. Mr. Vickers was preceded in death by: Mr. Vickers was preceded in death by:  Father, Aubrey Vickers, Mother, Myrtle Melissa Myers Vickers and Three Sisters; Juanita Vickers, Betty Jo Brigmond, Lunell Davis, Two Brothers; Robert Edward Vickers, Gene Arthur Vickers, and two Great Nephews; K. Chase Crews and Shaine Hayes.

 

 

Mr. Vickers attended the Coffee County Developmental Services Center (Unison) for over forty years. He was also of the Christian faith, and attended several churches in his lifetime.

 

 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 13, 2022, from 1:00PM until 2:00PM, at Sims Funeral Home.

 

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 2:00PM, at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Fussell and Rev. John Wayne Mathews officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be: the Staff of Bethany Hospice, The Staff of Coffee Regional Medical Center, and The Staff of the Coffee County Developmental Services Center (Unison).

 

 

Memorialization will be by cremation.

 

 

Sims Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of final arrangements.
