The Lady Trojans lost a couple heartbreakers in extra innings last week but started region play with a bang behind a perfect game by sophomore Erin Robinson.

Coffee knocked off Jenkins 15-0 in 3 innings and Robinson struck out all 9 she faced without allowing a baserunner. Hannah Capps had 3 hits while Morgan Hodges, Imani Paulk, Kaci Thacker, and Ella Winters all had 2 hits in the win. Robinson, Karlee Thomas, and Imori Paulk all added 1.

Coffee also traveled to Wayne County and dropped an 8 inning game to the Lady Jackets 3-2. Morgan Hodges and Erin Robinson had a hit and Hanna Hutchison lead the way with 2 hits. Erin Robinson pitched well scattering 7 hits striking out 5. On the next night Coffee dropped another extra inning game behind a 17 strikeout performance by Robinson. Hannah Capps and Ella Winters had 2 hits each while Hanna Hutchison and Imani Paulk added 1 apiece.

“We have pitched and played defense as well as anybody in the state so far this year. Region play has started and that’s what we play. As a staff we’re looking forward to some big games including Ware on Tuesday. Those 1-run games are tough to lose and are on me, can’t wait to get back on the field,“ said head coach Stan Hughes.

The week prior, Lady Trojans also defeated Telfair County on the road. Erin Robinson took the ball against the Lady Trojans and scattered 3 hits in the shutout. Robinson tallied 13 strikeouts. The Lady Trojans pounded out 14 hits including 3 by Hannah Capps with a double and a triple. Imani Paulk, Kaci Thacker, Erin Robinson, Ella Winters and Hanna Hutchison all had 2 hits each including a double by Paulk. Karlee Thomas also chipped in a hit.
