Mrs. Gwinnett Merritt Bracewell, age 76 of Douglas, GA passed away Saturday morning, August 27, 2022 at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Bracewell was born March 6, 1946 to the late Riley Arthur Merritt and the late Stella Tucker Merritt. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Gene Merritt. 

 

 

Mrs. Bracewell, a native of Coffee County, had retired from the Coffee County Board of Education Food Services. She was a member of First Assembly of God. 

 

 

Survivors include: 

 

 

Her Husband: James I. Bracewell of Douglas, GA 

 

 

2 Sons: Michael Bracewell and wife Tammie of Douglas, GA 

Irvin Bracewell and wife Wendy of Douglas, GA 

 

 

1 Sister: Patricia Teston and husband Clinton, Jr. of Douglas, GA 

 

 

3 Grandchildren: Justin Bracewell and wife Candace of Broxton, GA 

Riley Bracewell of Douglas, GA 

Craig Thomas and wife Courtney of Ambrose, GA 

 

 

2 Great Granddaughters: Maggie Bracewell and Callie Bracewell both of Broxton, GA 

 

 

Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Many Friends 

 

 

The graveside service and interment will be held Tuesday morning, August 30, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Douglas Gospel Assembly Cemetery with Rev. Allen Peacock officiating. 

 

 

The family will receive friends, Monday evening, August 29, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home. 

 

 

Active Pallbearers for the service will be: Jason Merritt, Stacy Teston, Bryan Teston, Darren Cliett, Jesse Merritt and Stanley Johnson. 

Due to COVID-19, attendees are asked to observe six foot social distancing at the visitation and graveside service. Please wear your mask for safety precautions. 

 

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
