Mr. Jesse Lehi White, age 90 years old, of Pearson, Ga. passed away, Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at Baptist Village in Waycross, Ga., following an extended illness.  

 

 

He was born in Coffee County, Ga. on July 24, 1932, the son of John Glenn and Allie Wilson White.  Mr. Lehi made his home in Pearson, where he, along with his wife, Billie, raised their family.  He was a farmer who worked hard all his life and took great pride and joy in providing and taking care of his family.  Mr. Lehi enjoyed going to bluegrass festivals, hound and fox hunting and riding horses.  He left many great memories for his loved ones that will last a lifetime.  He was a dedicated Christian who attended Ozias Freewill Baptist Church, as well as many other churches in the area.  

 

 

Mr. Lehi was preceded in death, along with his parents, by his wife, Billie Corbitt White, two sons:  Johnny Lehi White and Jerry Leon White, and three daughters-in-law:  Shirley White, Barbara White and Charlene White.

 

 

Lehi was blessed with a very large family, many who have also preceded him in death:  Lucille Herrin, Johnny May, Hazel Moulder, Melda Rogers, Sarah Mullis, Glenn White and Betty Clement.  Half-brothers and sisters:  Cappie Mizell, Hoke White, Ruby Bragg and Nephi White.

 

 

Survivors include:

 

 

Sister:  Loreta Green of St. Mary’s, Ga.

 

 

2 Sons:  Jimmy (Suzanne) White of Blackshear, Ga.

Joel White of Axson, Ga.

 

 

Daughter:  Janie (Kenny) Vining of Axson, Ga.

 

 

7 Grandchildren:  Jason (Wendy) White

Jennifer White

Jonathon (Lisa) White

Kevin (Melissa) White

Josh (Rachel) White

Justin “Mac” (Tiffinni) Vining

Jessica (Chad) Courson

 

 

14 Great Grandchildren:  Jordan & Caley White

Jenna & Rocky Wheeler

Justin & Austin White

Bradley & Jasper White

Kyrstyn & Jesse White

Lehi Swede & Finley Jo Courson

Jack & Julianna Vining

 

 

Great-Great-Granddaughter:  Adeline White

 

 

Nephew:  Clarence Mullis 

 

 

Several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives also survive.

 

 

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Lehi were held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at Little Utah Cemetery in Axson, Ga. with Rev. J.A. officiating with special memories and comments shared by Mr. Lehi’s son, Jimmy.  Musical selections included, “In the Garden” and “Go Rest High” rendered by cd. The interment followed in Little Utah Cemetery.

 

 

Serving as active pallbearers were:  Jason White, Jonathon White, Kevin White, Josh White, Justin “Mac” Vining, Jesse White, Bradley White, and Chad Courson.
