Mr. William Harold “Bill” Howard, Jr. age 68 of Douglas, GA passed away late Sunday night, September 11, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah following an extended illness. Mr. Howard was born July 16, 1954 to Gertrude Ogle Howard and the late William Harold Howard, Sr. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Ann Howard. 

 

 

Mr. Howard was born in Rantoul, IL He was self-employed for many years as an electrician. Mr. Howard was a veteran of the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force, he resided in many places around the world. After his Air Force career had ended, he resided in Lake City, FL and Douglas, GA. He was also a member of Jowers Chapel Holiness Baptist Church. 

 

 

Survivors include: 

 

 

His wife: MIriam Spivey Howard of Douglas, GA 

 

 

His Mother: Gertrude Ogle Howard of Lake City, FL 

 

 

2 Step-Children: Miranda Tanner Carter and husband Cole of Axson, GA 

Marissa Tanner Youngblood and husband Elijah of Pearson, GA 

 

 

2 Step-Grandchildren: Madalee Youngblood and Mark Youngblood both of Pearson, GA 

 

 

4 Brothers: Cecil “Jimmy” Howard of Lake City, FL 

Steve Howard of Lake City, FL 

Michael Howard of Oklahoma 

Robert Howard of North Carolina 

 

 

1 Sister: Patricia Howard of Lake City, FL 

 

 

2 Special nieces: Monica and Veronica from Spain 

 

 

Other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends 

 

 

The memorial service will be held Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Jowers Chapel Holiness Baptist Church with Rev. Marshall Dye and Rev. Tim Mock officiating. The inurnment will follow in Tanner Cemetery. 

 

 

Memorialization is by cremation. 

 

 

The family request in lieu of flowers, to make contributions to Ricketson Funeral Home to assist the family with the funeral arrangements. 

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
