James L. Day, age 91, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. 

 

 

Mr. Day was born on April 8, 1931, in Coffee County, GA to the late George Henderson Day and the late Annie Mae Jackson Day.

Survivors include: Wife: Mary Lou Griffis Day of Douglas, GA, Four Sons: David (Ja Ja) Hester of Douglas, GA, Darrell (Star) Hester of Jacksonville, FL, Bobby Day of Kathleen, GA, Chris (Deloris) Day of Ft Valley, GA, Two Daughters: Lisa (Marty) Powell of Warner Robins, GA, Kathy Johnson of Rockmark, GA, Sister: Betty Carroll Smith of Douglas, GA, 10 Grandchildren, 12 Great-grandchildren and Several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by: Father: George Henderson Day and Mother: Annie Mae Jackson Day.

 

 

The family will receive friends Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 9:30AM to 11:00AM at West Ward Church of God.

 

 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 11:00AM at West Ward Church of God with Rev. Britt Peavy, David Anderson and Rev. Byron L Griffis officiating. Interment followed at Douglas City Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Jerome Day, Johnny Day, Jimmy Day, Kyle Day, Spencer Powell, Charles Day, Johnathan Day, Walt Day and Steven Day.

 

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
