The city of Broxton is gearing up for its Liver and Gizzard Festival this Saturday, with organizers recently announcing a new home for the event to accommodate more vendors.

In September, Broxton officials and event planners announced that the festival, previously located on Highway 441, will be held at the new City of Broxton Park to have space for additional vendors and more attendees.

“The park is located behind the library at the corner of Church Street and Little Avenue. This spot is going to be amazing for our vendors, as well as our visitors. Crews have made big progress and worked hard to get the park in shape for the festival,” one organizer stated.

On the first Saturday of every November for the last nine years, visitors from across the South have traveled to the small town of Broxton to attend one of Georgia’s most unique festivals in the state.

The festival will feature over 40 vendors, live entertainment, family-friendly activities, and a parade. Several local and out-of-town food trucks will be on-site, offering chicken liver and gizzards and a variety of other delicious foods.

The Blood Mobile will be parked in front of the library from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. for anyone interested in donating blood. Each donor is gifted a free festival t-shirt, a $20 e-Gift card, a OneBlood plush blanket, and a wellness checkup. Appointments are encouraged and can be made at oneblood.org/donate-now.

T-shirts for the festival are also available for purchase at the Broxton City Hall this week during their regular business hours. Each shirt is $15 through size XL, with an additional $2 for each size larger than XL.

The festival will kick off this Saturday, November 5, beginning at 8:00 a.m. and lasting until 3:00 p.m. The parade will begin at 10:00 a.m.
