Mr. Jack Vernon Spivey, age 86 of Douglas, passed away Saturday morning, November 19, 2022 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a short illness. Mr. Spivey was born June 2, 1936 to the late John Henry Spivey and the late Mary Jane Davis Spivey. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 Siblings: Rev. J. Frank Spivey, L.C. Spivey, T. J. Spivey, Fronnie Clayton and Ruby Holton. 

 

 

Mr. Spivey, a native of Coffee County, GA, had been the owner of J & J Carpet Cleaning. He also was a Vocational Guidance Counselor at Terry Paarker High School in Jacksonville, FL. He was a full retiree of the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. He was also a member of First Assembly of God. 

 

 

Survivors include his wife of 63 years: Janice Marie Smith Spivey of Douglas, GA 

 

 

1 Brother: Joseph Spivey and wife Catherine of Marietta, GA 

 

 

3 Sisters-in-Law: Patricia Ann Phillips and husband Charles of Douglas, GA 

Carolyn Geneva McMillan and husband David of Crestview, FL 

Ollavan Brown of Orange Park, FL 

 

 

A number of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends 

 

 

The funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon, November 23, 2022, at 2:00 PM at First Assembly of God with Rev. Marshall Adcock officiating. The interment will follow at Salem Cemetery. 

 

 

The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon November 23, 2022 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at First Assembly of God. 

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
