Jewell Loretta Ashurst Crawford, 78

Jewell Loretta Ashurst Crawford, 78 of Hoboken, died December 15, 2022 at Bayview Nursing Home in Nahunta, Georgia after an extended illness. Mrs. Crawford was born in Douglas, Georgia to the late Percy N. Ashurst and Jewell Holton Ashurst and made Hoboken her home for most of her life. She was an exceptional homemaker and a member of Hoboken Baptist Church.

 

 

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, James Robert “Bobby” Crawford, a granddaughter, Kara Baker; and a great grandson, Mason West.

 

 

Mrs. Crawford is survived by three sons, Ricky Crawford wife Pam of Waycross, Bobby Crawford of Hoboken, Stephen Crawford wife Tina of Waycross; three daughters, Angela Stanfield husband Wesley of Jesup, Georgia, Bobbie Jean Hogan of Fitzgerald, Mary Ann Britt of Albany, Georgia; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Buddy Ashurst wife Annette of Fayetteville, Georgia, Karen Crosby husband Virgil of Navarre, Florida, Maxie Mossor husband Greg of Florala, Alabama; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

 

 

A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 11:00am in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Franklin Holiness Baptist Church Cemetery in Douglas, Georgia. The family will be receiving friends on Saturday beginning at 10:00am at the funeral home.

 

 

The family request the staff of Bayview Nursing Home serve as honorary pallbearers and should be at the funeral home by 10:45am.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Gideons International; P.O. Box 149, Blackshear, GA, 31516.

  

 

Miles-Odum Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
