The Community Toy Drive Committee helped provide Christmas joy to children on Wednesday, December 21, 2022.  Christmas toys were distributed to approximately 65 families in Douglas and Coffee County.

“Through the efforts of the Community Toy Drive Committee, over 100 children received gifts from Santa this year,” says Mayor Tony Paulk.  “We were able to give these toys to families in need because of community support from people and businesses in Douglas and Coffee County.”

Special thanks to CSRA Probation Services, Southwire, Douglas Police Department, Douglas Fire Department, City of Douglas, Douglas Lions Club, El 1800, Spectrum, Ms. Faith Spencer’s Coffee Middle School classes, Good Samaritans Outreach, Judy McDuffie, and others for their support and contribution to this community event.

Since 2016, community donations to the Community Toy Drive have provided toys for approximately 1,500 children in our community each year. Committee members are Douglas Fire Chief Casey Wright, Douglas Police Chief Shane Edmisten, Brantly Anderson (DFD), Rachel Clement (CSRA Probation), Aiyesha Reed (CSRA Probation), Sandy Sharpe (Southwire), Brittaney Coleman (Southwire), Rigo Victoria (DPD), and Blondale Thomas (City of Douglas).
