When the alcohol starts talking, sometimes it just won’t hush. Such is the case a Douglas woman allegedly found herself in earlier this week when she called 911 requesting that an officer help her get her keys back.

Shyan Thompson, 25, placed a call to 911 on January 15 because she didn’t have her car keys and wanted them back. According to an incident report, her mother took her keys because Thompson was allegedly intoxicated and her mother didn’t want her to drive under the influence.

And the story just keeps going from there.

She as eventually arrested on a felony charge after reportedly threatening to “burn the entire trailer park down” if she didn’t get her keys back.

The report states that the first call came around 5:48 a.m. Thompson placed the call and requested that a deputy meet with her on Appaloosa Trail. She wanted to meet with a deputy so that the deputy could go to another location to get her car keys. According to the report, the corporal had been informed that Thompson had been drinking and her mother had taken her keys. The officer noted that he was told her mother did not want her driving while drunk.

The corporal stated that he called Thompson multiple times and she did not pick up until 6:44 a.m. When she did answer, she said she wanted her car keys back. The corporal explained to Thompson that it was his understanding that her keys were taken from her because she was intoxicated and she wanted to leave in her car. The report states that Thompson said she ”still wanted her keys” and the officer told her that her mother would give them back when she sobered up.

Thompson then allegedly got mad and told the corporal multiple times that she hoped he died, along with his wife, kids, and brother. He stated that he finally

ended the call, and his body cam footage recorded the conversation.

A few minutes later, Thompson called 911 and again stated that she wanted her keys back from her family. She also allegedly told the dispatchers that she had spoken to a deputy, who told her “she could not have them back and was being a smart ass.” According to the report, Thompson then told dispatchers that “someone better get out there, or she was going to burn the entire trailer park down.”

The corporal stated that after receiving the information, he went to Thompson’s mother’s home, who stated that her daughter had in fact gotten her keys back. She then called friends to pick her up and take her to the residence on Apaloosa Trail. Thompson’s mother reported that she was supposed to be on the way back at the time. However, the corporal and Thompson’s mother both waited but she never showed up.

Around 9:25 a.m., Thompson called back and said she was told deputies were looking for her. Later that night, Thompson was arrested and booked into the Coffee County Jail at 8:36 p.m. She was charged with one count of terroristic threats and acts, which is a felony in Georgia.

DouglasNow looked for prior charges on Thompson due to her statement that she was “out on bond at the time.” However, only one prior charge was listed for Thompson, which was a misdemeanor criminal trespass last year. The charge was dismissed in the State Court of Coffee County in October 2022 due to the victim’s request.
