Rev. Charles Williams, age 84 of Pearson, GA, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, January 17, 2023 from injuries received in an auto accident.

 

 

Rev. Williams was born April 25, 1938 to the late Audie J. Williams and the late Mary Leona Youmans Williams. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Regina Hersey Williams and a brother, Donald Williams. Rev. Williams, a native of Atkinson County, had been a minister at Wesley Chapel Church for many years. 

 

 

Survivors include: 

 

 

 

3 Sons: Timothy Williams and wife Penny of Pearson, GA 

Mark Williams of Pearson, GA 

Charles Williams and wife Cathy of Broxton, GA 

 

 

2 Sisters: Barbara Hamilton of Pearson, GA 

Glenda Burnam of Cullman, AL 

 

 

14 Grandchildren; 34 Great Grandchildren and 10 Great-Great-Grandchildren 

 

 

A number of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. 

 

 

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, January 19, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home. 

 

 

The funeral service will be held Friday morning at 10:00 AM, January 20, 2023 at Wesley Chapel Church in Atkinson County with Rev. Dody Hersey, Rev. Harold Barnes and Rev. H. P Murray officiating. The interment will follow at Royals Cemetery in Atkinson County. 

 

 

Active Pallbearers for the service will be: Danny Roberts, David Corbitt, Robert Morgan, Jake Morgan, Joe Beverly, Jack Stone, Samuel Williams and Drew Davis. Honorary Pallbearers for the service will be Landfill Staff. 

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
