Mr. Alton Carver, age 82 of Douglas, passed away late Tuesday evening , January 31, 2023 following an extended illness. Mr. Carver was born June 27, 1940 to the late Ira Carver and the late Myrtle Hester Carver. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Joyce Hope Carver and 2 Brothers: Aulton Carver and Carroll Carver. 

 

Alton was an impressive man who dearly loved his family, friends and life in and around Coffee County. In his younger days, Alton was a large influence in the mobile home industry in Douglas. In 1982, he and his wife, Joyce Hope Carver, opened a real estate brokerage firm on the west coast of Florida, in which he was actively involved with until retirement. Alton was an accomplished musician and never far from his beloved piano. Also, he had a great love of aviation beginning in the late 1960’s when he became a private pilot. Most of all, he loved being a grandfather.

3 Children: Timothy Crumbley and wife Angela of Adel, GA 
Erica Carver of Douglas, GA 
Kevin Alton Carver and wife Heather of Douglas, GA 

 

5 Grandsons: Justin Crumbley and wife Amber of Adel, GA 
William Crumbley and Jonathan Crumbley both of Adel, GA 
Alexander Alton Carver and Julian Fox Carver both of Douglas, GA 

 

2 Sisters-in-Law: Ann Carver and Jane Carver both of Douglas, GA 

 

A Number of neices, nephews, cousins and many friends. 

 

A visitation and memorial service will be held on Monday afternoon, February 6, 2023 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home. 

Ricketson Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
