Mrs. Debra Carver Meeks, age 67 of Pearson, GA passed away Friday, January 20, 2023 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a short illness. Mrs. Meeks was born May 30, 1955 to the late Ben Carver, Jr. and Ann Walker Carver. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Dennis Michael Carver and 4 Grandchildren: Paisley Jewell, Carson Williams, Bella Perkins and Mattie Connaly. 

 

 

Mrs. Meeks, a native of Niagara Falls, NY, had lived most of her life in Douglas, GA. She had been a registered nurse for both Coffee Regional Medical Center and Irwin County Hospital. She attended both College Avenue Baptist Church and West Ward Church of God. 

 

 

Survivors include: 

 

 

Her Husband: Garlan Jerry Meeks of Pearson, GA 

 

 

4 Children: Jeremy Garlan Meeks of Pearson, Ga 

Amanda Spivey of Douglas, GA 

Alan Wayne King of Douglas, GA 

Timothy Brian King of Douglas, GA 

 

 

3 Siblings: Ben Carver, Brenda Farmer and Tammy Pittman, all of Douglas, GA 

 

 

8 Grandchildren 

 

 

A number of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. 

 

 

The memorial service will be held Saturday morning, January 28, 2023 at 10:00 AM at West Ward Church of God with Bishop Britt Peavy officiating. The inurnment will follow at Satilla Memorial Gardens. Memorialization is by cremation. 

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
