Mr. Hollis McKinnon, Sr. age 76 of Douglas, passed away late Friday afternoon, January 27, 2023 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. McKinnon was born January 11, 1947 to the late Claudie McKinnon and the late Pearlie Ricketson McKinnon. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Jaime McKinnon. 

 

 

Mr. McKinnon, a native of Coffee County, GA, had retired from the Coca Cola Company for 27 years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Vietnam War. He was of the Holiness Baptist faith. 

 

 

Survivors include: 

 

 

2 Daughters: Amanda Hall of Douglas, GA 

Sandy Tovar of Tifton, GA 

 

 

1 Son: Hollis McKinnon, Jr. of Douglas, GA 

 

 

1 Sister: Charldine Hightower of Douglas, GA 

 

 

10 Grandchildren 

 

 

10 Great Grandchildren 

 

 

Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Many Friends 

 

 

The funeral service will be held Monday afternoon, January 30, 2023 at 4:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Chaney officiating. The interment will follow in Salem Cemetery. 

 

 

The family will receive friends Monday afternoon, January 30, 2023 from 3:00PM until 4:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home. 

 

 

Active Pallbearers for the service will be: Mitchell Hall, Walter Johnson, Ted Clarke, Matthew McKinnon, Tyler Courson and Killian Taylor. 

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
