With deepest sorrow, we announce that Ronald Atlas Williams peacefully passed away on February 1, 2023, at his home in Douglas, GA, due to cancer he had battled with courage and quiet dignity the past few months.

Those left to cherish his precious memories include his beloved wife of 44 years, Deborah Williams; two sons, Ronnie Adam Williams (Denise), Bennie “Sporty” Lino (Gretchen); daughters, Brandi Jones (Glen), Michelle McCarvey (Scott); and Tammy Weirich (Billy.) Also surviving is a twin brother, Donald A. Williams, and sisters, Diane Hamm & Donna Alvis-Banks (Rick). Ron was above all passionate and proud of all his nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Ron and Debby raised their grandchild, Kyle Woodrow Williams, and he held a special place in Ron’s heart. He will sadly be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Also, “Woody,” his beloved shih tzu, was a delight to Ron in his later years.

The family wishes to thank his exceptional neighbor and “Angel,” Marci Porrata, for her extraordinary care and support. Also, Ron’s daughter, Brandi Jones, spent all her days off work and weekends loving and caring for her dad.

A Vietnam-era veteran, he served with honor in the United States Air Force, United States Navy, and the Army National Guard. After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and an Associate’s degree in marketing from Tampa College, Ron pursued a career in warehouse/industrial management. He worked two jobs most of his adult career to provide for his family. His later years found him working as an installation technician with a group of co-workers which he loved as much as family.

He was a man of integrity and honor. Ron will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

All are welcome as we celebrate his life at Broxton Church of God, 1077 Alabama Street North, Broxton, Georgia, on Saturday, February 11, with military honors and the memorial service starting at 1 pm. Reverend Joey Copeland will officiate. The vocalist will be Mr. Marlon Smith, and pianist will be Mr. Sam Snipes.

Ron is in the care of Johnson Funeral & Cremation Services. Online condolences may be expressed through www.johnsonfuneralga.com

Rest in peace, Ron. We will miss you.

And the dust returns to the earth as it was, And the spirit returns to God who gave it.   ECCLESIASTES 12:7
