Tarka Shamar Moody, 44, has been arrested and hit with a variety of charges following a search of his house in Nicholls.

According to a copy of the incident report, on February 8, detectives executed a search warrant on Moody at his house, located at 231 Forest Ridge Road in Nicholls. When detectives entered the home, Moody was in the middle bedroom of the house before the search took place.

Detectives reported discovering a quantity of suspected cocaine, a Sccy 9mm handgun, a large quantity of suspected marijuana, a quantity of unknown pills, which they stated were believed to be homemade, a digital scale, and a marijuana grinder. The handgun was identified as being stolen in Coffee County in March 2022.

Detectives also confirmed the Moody was a convicted felon. According to documents filed online, Moody was convicted of possession of cocaine in 2016.

The report states that officers would take warrants on Moody on multiple charges, including possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of drug-related objects.

Moody is currently being held in the Coffee County Jail.
