Mr. Jerry Wayne Eldridge, age 79 of Douglas passed away early Saturday morning, February 11, 2023 at his residence following a short illness. Mr. Eldridge was born January 28, 1944 to the late James Randall Eldridge and the late Elizabeth Gladys LaGrone Eldridge. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Charles Randall “Moose” Eldridge, and 3 Sisters: Edith Weffell, Irelle Houston and Jeanette Adams. 

 

 

Mr. Eldridge was born in Moultrie, GA. He had worked as a maintenance supervisor in the mining division of IMC. Mr. Eldridge was a member of College Avenue Baptist Church. 

 

 

Survivors include: 

 

 

His wife: Daisy June Hall Eldridge of Douglas, GA 

 

 

2 Sons: Chris Eldridge of Brandon, FL 

Eric Eldridge of Tampa, FL 

 

 

2 Step-Sons: Jim B. Dotson of Douglas, GA 

Jody Dotson of Pennsylvania 

 

 

1 Step-Daughter: Yvette Hendry of Wauchula, FL 

 

 

2 Brothers: Don Eldridge of Douglas, GA 

James Clyde Eldridge of Fruitland Park, FL 

 

 

Numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren 

 

 

A number of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends 

 

 

The funeral service will be held Tuesday afternoon, February 14, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Sand Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Matt Rutland and Rev. Jimmy Littlejohn officiating. The interment will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery. 

 

 

Mr. Eldridge will be placed in the church to lie-in-state from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour of 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. 

 

 

Active Pallbearers for the service will be: Matt Eldridge, Dalton Eldridge, Ken Eldridge, Zach Callahan, James Park, Randy Eldridge and Brian Eldridge. 

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
