Rev. John Q. Carver Jr., age 72, of Nicholls, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023. Mr. Carver was born on September 18, 1950 in Coffee County, GA to John Quiness Carver Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Gilliard Carver.

 

 

Survivors include; Wife: Dorothy Sue Carver of Nicholls, GA, Son: Quiness Carver (Meredith) of Nicholls, GA, Daughter: Jackie Stewart (Joe) of Nicholls, GA, Sister: Quinette Lott (Ronnie) of Nicholls, GA, Brother: Roy Sweat of Alma, GA, Three Grandchildren: Braden Mobley (Lauren) of Douglas, GA, Devin Carver (Julianne) of Nicholls, GA, Ty Carver of Nicholls, GA, Mother: Mary Carver Kirkland of Nicholls, GA, Sisters-in-Law: Dorothy Dukes of Douglas, GA, Chris Metts (Roy) of Douglas, GA, Laura Dukes of Clewiston, FL, and several Nieces and Nephews.

 

 

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 6:00PM to 9:00PM at Sims Funeral Home.

 

 

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at 2:00PM at Saginaw Baptist Church with Rev. L.G. Aldridge officiating. Interment followed at Saginaw Cemetery.  Active Pallbearers will be: Mike Grantham, Quiness Carver, Braden Mobley, Devin Carver, Ty Carver and Joe Stewart. Honorary Pallbearers will be: City of Douglas Fire Department, and the Deacons of Pine Grove, Bethel and Saginaw churches.
