CSX releases railroad crossing closure updates

Contractors working with CSX railroad have released an update for crossings in Douglas.  Several teams have been working on railroad maintenance work continues. Due to the magnitude of the job, closures have changed several times. No estimated time of completion for each crossing has been given.

 

 

Crossings that are closed as of March 3, 2023, include Willy Anderson Rd., Manilla Ave., College Ave., Daughtry Ave., Shirley Ave., Barrington Rd., and Salem Church Rd.

 

 

One upcoming closure was listed in the update. The crossing at SR 268/Vickers Crossing will be closed on Monday, March 6, 2023, in the evening.

Crossings that have been completed as of March 2, 2023, include Shell Bell Rd., Opatut Rd., Clyde Kirkland Rd., Wendell Sears Rd., S. McDonald Ave., and S. Pearl Ave.

 

 

Although not listed on the update, the following tentative closures were listed originally and may be closed days before or days after the above dates: Beach Rd., Scotch Pine Rd., Whippoorwill Rd., Lupo Lane, S. Fales Ave., Sycamore St., Gaskin Ave., Sinkhole Rd., Chaney Rd., Mitchell Rd., Bushnell Rd., Palmetto Rd., Dennis Harper Rd., Golden Pond Rd., Vickers Crossing, Jowers Crossing, New Hope Rd., Jowers Lane, and Eagle Rd.

 

 

Motorists should allow more drive time to reach destinations while these projects are being completed.
