Mrs. Rebecca Delayne Giddens Smith, age 42 of Millwood, GA passed away unexpectedly at her residence following a brief illness. Mrs. Smith was born June 20, 1980 to Annelle Purvis Giddens and the late Gary Jerome Giddens. 

 

 

Mrs. Smith was born in Tifton, GA but grew up in Alapaha, GA. She was a RN with Bethany Hospice of Douglas. She was also a member of Douglas Christian Fellowship. 

 

 

Survivors include: 

 

 

Her Husband: Anthony “Andy” Smith of Millwood, GA 

 

 

5 Children: Kara-Beth Smith of Douglas, GA 

Makayla Carlin and husband Joseph of Nicholls, GA 

Austin Smith, Adda-Beth Smith and Avery Claire Smith, all of Millwood, GA 

 

 

Mother: Annelle Purvis Giddens of Alapaha, GA 

 

 

3 Siblings: Gary Giddens and wife Hope of Alapaha, GA 

Angie Jernigan and husband Kenny of Nashville, GA 

Sharon Sumner of Alapaha, GA 

 

 

Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Many Friends 

 

 

The funeral service will be Thursday morning, March 2, 2023 at 11:00 AM at West Ward Church of God with Rev. Buddy Phillips officiating. The interment will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Smith will lie-in-state Thursday morning, March 2, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour of 11:00 AM at West Ward Church of God. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, March 1, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home. 

 

 

Active pallbearers for the service will be: J.T. Carlin, Rhett Thomas, Gary Giddens, Grady Giddens, Will Vickers, Shafton Thomas and Austin Smith. 

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
