Students and scholars of public administration and organization theory have a new resource with the release of Organization Theories and Public Administration: A Critical Annotated Bibliography, co-edited by Dr. Tulasi Acharya, South Georgia State College’s Assistant Professor of English.

The book is a compilation of critical annotated bibliographies of important and timely articles in public administration and organization theory. The bibliographies are divided into different themes and categories. Under each theme, there are between 10 and 20 annotated bibliographies (over 1000 in total), with a thematic summary at the end. The seven contributors, along with Dr. Acharya, teach at universities in both the United States and abroad in departments ranging from public administration to education to English.

The authors review the conceptual, theoretical, and methodological discussions in the articles and present them in the format of an annotated bibliography under different themes. The articles critically discussed and summarized under each theme will give students, scholars, researchers, bureaucrats, and teachers a better grasp of the ideas, concepts, theories, and methods needed to understand organization and leadership. The book will be useful for anyone who is conducting research in public administration with a focus on organizations and organizational theory and praxis.

Acharya was born in the South Asian country of Nepal. He completed his Master’s degree in English in Tribhuvan University in Kathmandu. He also taught English and Journalism courses at colleges in Nepal, where he authored textbooks on mass communication and journalism. A prolific writer, Acharya published short stories, poems, and articles in Nepali journals, national newspapers and online. He moved to the United States in 2008 to pursue a Master’s degree in creative writing. He holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University, USA. Originally from Nepal, Acharya has a Master’s degree in Women’s Studies and a degree in Professional Writing. His research interests are disability, policy, gender and sexuality, marginalized narratives, critical theory, and post colonialism, including creative writing and translation.
