Unison Behavioral Health’s new adult clinic is open. The clinic was made possible by a Community Development Block Grant to the City of Douglas with funding support from Coffee Regional Medical Center and Unison Behavioral Health.

“This project will increase mental health resources in Coffee County,” says Mayor Tony Paulk. “Having this facility in our community will help save the lives of people who are facing mental health and substance abuse issues and we are happy to see it open.”

Unison Behavioral Health provides quality mental health, substance use and developmental disability services for Atkinson, Bacon, Charlton, Clinch, Coffee, Pierce and Ware Counties. The clinic will expand access to mental health and addiction treatment services in the Douglas/Coffee County region. Community leaders attended the ceremony with representatives from the City of Douglas, Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce, Region 5 Field Office, DBHDD and the Southern Georgia Regional Commission.

“We appreciate the City of Douglas and Coffee Regional Medical Center for their collaborative work on this project demonstrating the importance of investing in the mental health needs of the community”, says Tiffany Henderson, CEO, Unison Behavioral Health.  “This support from our community partners helps reduce the stigma associated with mental health and substance abuse challenges that often prevent individuals from reaching out for needed support.  This new facility for adult outpatient services will allow us to expand our service delivery to both adults and youth in separate locations as our previous facility will now focus on youth services only.  We encourage individuals to reach out for help as we know that the earlier the intervention the better the outcomes.  Recovery is possible and we are here to support individuals on their recovery journey.”
