Officers from the Coffee County Drug Unit arrested Jonathan Levan Tucker, 39, last week after they recognized him as having an active warrant. Turns out, he had more going on than just a warrant.
About 1:30 p.m. on March 8, officers saw Tucker walking out of a wooded area on Lake Shore Drive. One officer recognized Tucker and knew he had an active warrant. He attempted to stop Tucker, who then ran back into the woods. As he was running, Tucker threw something down. The officer caught Tucker and arrested him. He and another officer found what Tucker had thrown down. The small packaged contained 23 grams of suspected methamphetamine.
In addition to the charges for the warrant, Tucker was charged with possession of methamphetamine and obstruction of an officer. He remains in the Coffee County Jail.
