The Coffee Trojans track team finished first at the For Coffee home meet last Thursday. The Trojans bested the Atkinson County Rebels, Bacon County Red Raiders, and Lanier County Bulldogs.
Senior Kate Merritt set another school record in her career, this time with a 5:19.55 in the 1600 meters. She also won the 800 meters. Coach Greg Luke and staff recognized the Trojan seniors at the meet: Jair Bonilla, Jade Hamilton, Kate Merritt, Ainsley Myers, Nevin Swanson and Nathaniel Tapia.

Junior Janiya Brown broke into a 12.69 time in the 100 meter dash and set a new personal record..
Junior Ja’Maria Harvey ran a 400 meter time of 1:00.98.
Kate Merritt ran a 2:36.50 in the 800 meter run. She also finished 5:19.55 in the 1600 meter run and established a new school record.
Kellah Smith finished the 3200 meter run with a 13:10.79.
Breana Griffin ran the 100 meter hurdles for 20.07 seconds.
The 4X100 meter relay Breana Griffin, Iyani Johnson, Janiya Brown, and Jamiah Hudson ran a time of 52.69 seconds.
The 4X200 meter relay team of Jewel Goolsby, Denya Young, Charity Sams, and Camilla Scott posted a 2:07.33.
The 3200 meter relay team of Mariah Hurtado, Allison Rivas, Jade Hamilton and Ainsley Myers ran 13:27.14.
Denisha Young had a big throw of 29 feet and 1.5 inches in the shot put.
Jaquon Harrison covered the 100 meters in 10.99 seconds.
Joshua Cribb ran a 400 meter time of 57 seconds.
Nevin Swanson ran a 2:11.62 in the 800 meter run and 4:50.78 in the 1600 meter run. Will Bagwell finished the 3200 meter run in 10:35.22.
Andre Brewton ran a 48.88 in the 300 meter hurdles.
The 400 meter relay team of Jaquon Harrison, KJ Smith, Zean Preston and Jayden Hancock ran a time of 44.73 seconds.
The 3200 meter relay team of Landon Cliett, Joshua Cribb, Micale Smith, and Nathanael Tapia finished with a time of 9:57.54.
KJ Smith cleared 39 feet and 2 inches in the triple jump. Tyrese Hansley threw the discus for 124 feet and 2 inches.
