Last week, officers in Jeff Davis County posed as employees on a solar panel site to apprehend a fugitive who had been on the run for nearly four years. He allegedly skipped bond stemming from charges in Americus in 2019.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation Region 3 requested assistance in the location and arrest of Jacori Devontae Peters, who was arrested in 2019 and granted bond but later skipped town after not appearing in court.

Jeff Davis sheriff’s investigators were able to locate Peters working at the solar panel construction site.  Investigators devised a plan to approach Peters without suspicion.  Acting as solar construction employees, investigators were able to lure Peters to a secure location where he was suddenly apprehended without incident.

Peters was transported to the Jeff Davis County Jail and later transported to Americus where he awaits his next court date.
