Sunday night, officers from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office and Coffee County EMA fished a brand new Kia out of Cat Creek on Highway 64 near Wilsonville.

A crew in an ambulance transport was traveling on Highway 64 Sunday night when, as they crossed over the creek, noticed a car floating in the water. They turned around, calling for assistance in the process. Law enforcement and rescue crews responded quickly but by the time they arrived, the car had sunk to the bottom of the creek.

No one was in the vehicle and there didn’t appear as though anyone had suffered any injuries. The car was a brand new Kia K5 that had been reported stolen out of Miami.

As of Monday afternoon, there had been no arrests in the incident.
