Mr. Donnie Stone, age 70 years old, of Alapaha, Ga. passed away Monday, March 27, 2023, at his home, following a brief illness.  

 

 

He was born in Douglas, Ga. on January 4, 1953, son of Marvin and Virginia Vining Stone.  Mr. Stone made his home here, where he took great pride in raising and providing for his family.  He worked at PCC for over twenty years, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, in which he served proudly for 4 years.  Mr. Stone was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and spending time with his family.  He was preceded in death, along with parents, by a son, Donald Stone, sister; Mildred Cribb, brother-in-law; Ottis Stone and sister-in-law; Wanda Stone. 

 

 

Survivors include:

 

 

Son:  Ronald Stone and wife Melanie of Willacoochee, Ga.

 

 

Wife:  Charlotte Stone of Nashville, Ga.

 

 

Daughter-In-Law:  Nancy Stone of South Carolina

 

 

2 Sisters:  Linda Stone of Enigma, Ga.

Vangie Stone of Valdosta, Ga.

 

 

3 Brothers:  Larry Stone of Douglas, Ga.

Dewayne Stone and wife Pat of Alapaha, Ga.

Kevin Stone and wife Melissa of Broxton, Ga.

 

 

Brother-In-Law:  Hayward Cribb of Willacoochee, Ga.

 

 

Grandchildren:  Gabe, Payton, Myya, Grace, and Cameron Stone.

 

 

Great-Grandchildren:  Saylor and Trason Erdmier

 

 

Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

 

 

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Stone were held Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Pearson, Ga. with Rev. Larry Stone, and Rev. Kevin Stone officiating. Special music selection was “Amazing Grace” rendered by cd.  The interment followed in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

 

 

Relihan Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
