Mr. Eugene Harper, age 89 of Willacoochee, GA passed away Thursday morning, April 6, 2023, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Harper was born December 24, 1933 to the late Ivey Harper and the late Gladys Merritt Harper. He was also preceded in death by his first Wife, Treva Lou Cruce Harper and 1 Son, Bruce Harper. 

 

 

Mr. Harper, a native of Coffee County, GA, had been a prominent farmer for many years in the Willacoochee area. 

 

 

Survivors include: 

 

 

His Wife: Betty Jean Simmons Harper of Ambrose, GA 

 

 

1 Son: David Harper and Special Friend, Polly Guthrie of Willacoochee, Ga 

 

 

2 Sisters: Sandra Carver of Barnesville, GA 

Wylene Dorminey of Douglas, GA 

 

 

1 Brother: Harold Harper of Mora, GA 

 

 

2 Grandchildren: Amber Beard and husband Brad of Waycross, GA 

Allen Harper and wife Brandy of Douglas, GA 

 

 

4 Great Grandchildren: Caleb Beard, Isabella Beard, Damien Beard and Lilith Beard all of Waycross, GA 

 

 

Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Many Friends 

 

 

The family will receive friends Saturday morning, April 8, 2023 from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM at Ricketson Funeral Home. 

 

 

The graveside service and interment will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 AM at Griffin Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Harper officiating. 

 

 

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
